When is a French Knot something else entirely?
Whenever Joanne’s in town, she’s as likely as not to drop into Needlepoint Land for the Wednesday Stitch-Mania session.
Now earlier this week, she decided to use French Knots on her Yellow Brick Road ornament.
As I understand it, she was suddenly gripped with a lack of self-confidence crisis about the whole thing. Plus which, she decided they were too bulky.
Then Joanne had a brilliant idea.
Why not invent a whole new stitch?
So today, Joanne came into Needlepoint Land to drop off her now stitched masterpiece for finishing, and explained to me what she ended up doing.
I was in awe.
I have no doubt that Joanne’s new stitch is going to take the needlepoint world by storm — for its name, if not for anything else.
It’s called French Nots.
It’s the one to use when you just need to get there already.
